Here in the Southwest, tacos are everywhere — it's a staple item, and there are lots of ways to make this traditional Mexican street food your own. Instead of sticking to the same old taco filling every time, why not branch out? At BBQ Island, we love to use BBQ smokers to infuse the dish with added flavor and make tacos taste even better.
One of our favorite, out-of-the-box choices for taco night? Mahi mahi fish tacos with a zingy cabbage slaw for garnish. This dish is perfect for hot summer nights when you're looking for something light and refreshing. It's a crowd pleasing dish for a party, but it's also great for family game nights, too. Try serving these delicious tacos with a side of tortilla chips and fresh guacamole for a complete meal.
We'd be remiss not to mention that this is one of our all-time favorites for any number of BBQ smokers, but we think it's the most fun to whip this up with the Big Green Egg. Try it and let us know what you think!
